The Day I Showed Up to iHeartMedia Even When I Was Scared
Today reminded me exactly what Embrace Your Fear stands for.
I was told by Big Boy’s assistant to come by iHeartMedia to drop off some shirts for Big. So I showed up, nervous, excited, but ready. When I got there, I found out his assistant was actually in Mexico. Big Boy himself was there, but without his assistant, there was no clear way for me to get upstairs.
At that moment, I had two choices: leave and tell myself “maybe next time,” or take a chance and show up anyway.
I stood there thinking, I didn’t come all this way just to leave empty-handed. Then I saw the elevator doors open. Something in me said, go. So I did.
I went up to the fifth floor, heart racing, not even sure if I was supposed to be there. When I got to the front desk, I introduced myself, told them about my brand, and handed them the shirts. I explained what Embrace Your Fear means, that it’s not just clothing, it’s a message. It’s about being scared and still showing up.
And honestly, even though it didn’t go exactly how I imagined, I left feeling proud. Because that’s what this journey is about, doing the uncomfortable thing, taking the chance, and trusting the moment.
That’s Embrace Your Fear. It’s about showing up when you’re nervous. Speaking up when you’d rather stay quiet. Taking the elevator even when no one says “go.”
Today was a reminder that the biggest progress often happens in those small moments, the ones where fear is loud, but faith speaks louder.
